The Globe Inn is a charming 18th century Georgian coaching inn and public house set on a picturesque square in the popular harbour town of Wells-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk Heritage Coast. The Globe has two bars and a restaurant. The Buttlands Bar has recently been renovated and features an interesting mix (some might say mish-mash!) of old furniture and antique lighting. The walls are decorated with a collection of cartoons many from the twenties and thirties and there is a huge wood-burning stove for those slightly less temperate evenings which can be part of a North Norfolk winter. The Courtyard Bar is a bigger, more traditional pub bar with pub games and occasional live music. Here there is a gallery of jazz portraits and if you can name them all you might be able to persuade the landlord to buy you a drink! The Courtyard Bar opens on to the large courtyard where on warm days and balmy evenings guests can enjoy a drink or a meal surrounded by shrubs and perfumed perennials. On summer weekends there is quite likely to be a barbeque and some cool jazz here. |
